Sevilla manager, Vincenzo Montella has sarcastically claimed that the only way to stop Alexis Sanchez is to “kill him”.

The Chilean will be making his Champions League debut for Manchester United tonight, February 21, following his January transfer from Arsenal.

Speaking ahead of his side clash with Manchester United, Sevilla boss Montella said: "Maybe we can kill him or knock him down or something. I remember him really well from his stay in Italy.

“He has improved his style a lot during his career and I think he can be a really good player in transition.

“They have really good speed in attack.”

The former AC Milan boss is managing only his second match in the Champions League, having taken charge of Sevilla in December.

By contrast, it will be the 134th game in the competition for United boss Jose Mourinho, a two-time winner.

And Montella said: “Mourinho was a pioneer when it comes to tactics in football and I’ve read many books on him.

“I am really excited by this match. We’ll need to be ready mentally and physically.
