Real Madrid president Florentino Perez reportedly met with the father of Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar to discuss a world-record transfer for the Brazil international.

And Spanish outlet Diario Gol are reporting that Neymar Sr promised Bernabeu bigwig Perez that his son would force through another world record move this summer.

According to the Spanish news publication, while Neymar is hoping for a move away from the Parc des Princes at the end of his first season in Paris, he may have to wait until the summer of 2019 to secure his move.

Talk of Neymar eventually joining Los Merengues has been growing recently, Eduardo Inda of OK Diario helped stoke the rumours when he said earlier this month talks over a transfer were already taking place.

"Neymar Sr promised the President of the Real that he would put as much pressure as possible on Nasser Al- Khelaïfi to let his son escape this summer," Diario Gol wrote.

"You have my word," Neymar Sr said according to the reports.

It may be premature to think about replacing Ronaldo, even though he's 32. After all, Real's talismanic No. 7 remains as prolific as ever, scoring nine goals in the group stage of the UEFA Champions League.
