- CSKA Moscow star Aleksandr Golovin could be on his way to Chelsea in January
- Chelsea are said to be preparing a deal to sign the Russian midfielder next year
- The Blues' owner Roman Abramovich is said to be interested in the player
Reigning Premier League champions Chelsea are reportedly ready to sign CSKA Moscow midfielder Aleksandr Golovin when the January 2018 transfer window opens.
According to the report by UK Sun, Chelsea Russian owner Roman Abramovich is ready to pay the sum of £15 million in January to lure his fellow countryman to Stamford Bridge.
Golovin, 21, is looking to take the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia by storm, and the Blues want to wrap up a deal for the player as soon as possible.
He is tipped to be the hosts’ leading light at the World Cup and Chelsea want to tie him down now rather than face an auction if he does well.
Signing him from CSKA Moscow is also expected not to be a problem for Chelsea as the company owned by the Blues' owner reportedly sponsored the Russian club in the past.
And should Chelsea sign him in January, Golovin is expected to give Spanish star Cesc Fabregas a fight for the first team at Stamford Bridge.
Earlier, NAIJ.com had reported how Chelsea coach Antonio Conte told the club to sign more players in the January 2018 transfer.
