- Petr Cech believes his teammates were not fully prepared to compete against Southampton
- Charley Austin scored within three minutes of the game to give Southampton the lead
- Arsenal needed a late Olivier Giroud's goal to salvage a point at the St Mary's stadium
Petr Cech has voiced his disapproval with the performance of his Arsenal teammates after the Gunners dropped two points against Southampton at St. Mary's on Sunday, December 11.
After conceding two early goals against Manchester United last week, Arsenal were once again caught out as Charlie Austin scored in the third minute.
Arsenal looked set for disappointment away from home again but Olivier Giroud produced a late equaliser in the 86th minute.
Despite Arsenal's improvement in the second half, Cech still was not impressed by his teammates' slow start to the game, referencing last week's slow start which cost them the game against Manchester United.

Cech told Match of the Day: "We deserved to get a point for the second half performance. We put them under pressure and created more than in the first half.
“We don't deserve all three because we gave them good chances in the start and could have been 3-0 down.
“The first 10 minutes cost us the game against Man United. And it almost did again today, it is something we have to work on. 1-1 is a fair result.
