Spain have won the 2017 Copa Lagos beach soccer tournament after a 6 - 5 victory over Nigeria in the final game on Sunday, December 10.
Both Spain and Nigeria were in search of a final day victory to emerge champions after both team won their first two games against Morocco and Lebanon.
But it was the Spanish team that opened the scoring through their star man Llorenc before Nigeria's Emeka Ogbonna levelled the game with a fierce shot.
Eduard Molina put Spain back in the lead but again Nigeria levelled matters through Ekuitmi Eganosi after a defensive howler.
Nigeria for the first time in the game went ahead through Ogbonna who got his second for the night but few seconds later Eduardo Molina drew Spain back on level terms.
Abu Azeez scored a brilliant goal to make the score 4-3 but Eduard Molina again silenced the crowd with a goal of his own.
Spain edged forward with a beautiful goal by the goalie, Fransisco Lopez, and with just three minutes left on the clock, the European giants extended their lead with a sensational goal from Adrian Garcia.
However, Abu Azeez pulled in a stunning last minute goal but it was a little too late and not enough as Spain emerged winner, winning 6-5 on the day.
The three-day tournament which was held at Eko Atlantic City in Victory Island saw a host of world class teams featured including the Arsenal beach soccer club.
In the club session, Arsenal BSC, led by England beach soccer player Aaron Clark emerged champions after defeating Gidi Sharks 9-5 in their final game.
