Sevilla chairman reveals why Arsenal target N'zonzi is in London

Steven N'Zonzi has been in the forefront of several transfer reports linking to a move back to the Premier League but Sevilla chairman has come out to rubbish the rumors.

The French international admitted he wants to leave the club amid interest from the Premier League.

N'Zonzi has not featured since being substituted at half-time during Sevilla's 3-3 draw with Liverpool last month and has been left out of their squads ever since.

The former Blackburn Rovers midfielder is believed to have left the stadium after a row with boss Eduardo Berizzo.

However, Sevilla insist the Frenchman’s trip to the English capital has been with their permission, in order to visit family.

“His situation is due to a technical issue with the coaches and as with all the technical issues, he can change it,” said Sevilla chairman Jose Castro.

“He has travelled to London to visit his son with our permission.

Arsenal and Everton have been linked to a move for the out-of-favour midfielder, who previously played in the Premier League with Blackburn and Stoke City and he has a £35 million release clause in his contract at Sevilla.
