- Chelsea midfielder Tiemoue Bakayoko believes he should receive a France call-up ahead of N'Golo Kante
- Bakayoko said this while reacting to being dropped by Didier Deschamps from the French national team
- The former Monaco midfielder has divided opinions on his performances since joining Chelsea
Chelsea new boy Tiemoue Bakayoko claims he is better than team mate N'Golo Kante.
He said this after he was dropped from the French squad by Didier Deschamps.
Bakayoko was signed from Monaco in the summer after a brilliant season with Monaco where he won the French League and also helped Monaco to the Champions League semi final.
The French international has split opinions on his performances for the English champions so far.
A poor performance in Rome against Roma was countered with a decent showing against United three days later.
His inconsistent performances saw him dropped from the French national team for November's international break.
When asked about being left out of France’s squad, Bakayoko told Canal+: "I’m disappointed.
"I believe in this World Cup, it’s still my goal. I play for a big club; I think that can work in my favour.
"I feel [Adrien] Rabiot, Kante, [Blaise] Matuidi, [Corentin] Tolisso are not better than me.
"I respect the coach’s decision and I also respect the players who were called up, they are talented, some are friends of mine.
"I’m proud that they were called up. I’d like to be with them. ‘But I’m not below them."

Kante was Chelsea's player of the season as well as the PFA, the football writer's player of the season and French player of the season.
And he was deeply missed when he was out injured, he came back against United and gave a man of the match performance to help Chelsea defeat United.
This sweeping statement by Bakayoko is sure to raise eyebrows among Chelsea fans and indeed the entire football world.
