- John Obi Mikel will make a return to the Super Eagles squad on Tuesday, November 14
- Goalkeeper Ikechukwu Ezenwa will sit on the bench when Nigeria face Argentina in Russia
- Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr said he wants to make some changes in his first team
Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has stated that he will make some changes in his squad that will face Argentina on Wednesday, November 14, in an international friendly.
Rohr who was reacting to the 1-1 draw Nigeria played against Algeria in their last 2018 World Cup qualifier revealed that Super Eagles captain Mikel Obi will return against Argentina.
“Mikel of course will come back. He didn’t play against Algeria because it was not a good moment for him coming from China.
''Playing two games in four days is a risk for him and we both agreed that it was best for him to sit out,'' Rohr said according to the Vanguard.
The 64-year-old German also explained that newly invited Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper Francis Odinaka Uzoho could make his debut against Argentina on Tuesday, November 14.
“Against Argentina we will make some changes with two or three players. It will be interesting to see another goalkeeper. We have to work hard to be better.” he said.
