It has been confirmed this afternoon that former Juventus star Pavel Nedved will come out of retirement to play for amateur outfit FK Skalna in his homeland of the Czech Republic.

Nedved, now 45, began his career with minnows Dukla Prague in 1991 before moving onto Sparta Prague a year later. Four years with Sparta eventually resulted in a move to Serie A outfit Lazio, where the midfielder began to establish himself as one of the world’s most impressive young talents.

However, it was a move to giants Juventus in 2001 which saw the gifted attacking midfielder/winger’s career really take off, with his phenomenal exploits on the way to the Champions League final with the Bianconeri in 2003 resulting in the 91-time capped international receiving the Ballon D’Or.

He announced his retirement from the game in 2009, and has since gone on to become the Vice-Chairman at Juventus.

Nedved’s son, Pavel jr., also currently plies his trade with Skalna.

It remains to be seen how much time Nedved will be granted away from his duties at Juventus, however, with the Old Lady legend known to be a key member of the club’s board in Turin.
