- Diego Costa criticizes Antonio Conte for sending him a message about his future at Chelsea
- Conte sent Costa a text message at the end of last season saying he had no future at the club
- The striker says the message was disrespectful but feels loved and appreciated by Blues fans
Diego Costa says Antonio Conte was disrespectful with his decision to tell him he has no future at Chelsea by text message.
The Spanish striker told MC News that Conte sent the message while he was on international duty at the end of last season in a "moment of madness".
The striker's agent Jorge Mendez is looking to secure his client's return to Atletico Madrid before the transfer window ends.
Costa says that despite being ostrasized from the Blues first team, he still feels an attachment to the club because of the affection of the fans.
"Conte's text? It was a moment of madness. It can happen, but I thought it was disrespectful," he told MC News.
"I always asked to speak face to face with the coach and the board. I never sent [them] text messages, so it shows what kind of person he is.
"If something makes me sad about this situation, it's [the fans'] affection as they'd always supported me, even during the delicate moments.
"If I'd been in the team for three years, it was for them and the dressing room, which was very much united. It was a great experience."
Costa also reiterated his desire to return to Atletico with the striker having no future at Stamford Bridge.
