Manchester United on Sunday, August 13 got off the start of their 2017/18 Premier League campaign on a brighter note as they defeated visiting West Ham United 4-0 at Old Trafford.
Belgian international Romelu Lukaku was in the best form of his life as he proved to his critics that he can lead United's attack this season in the Premier League and also in the Champions League.
The former Everton forward scored the first goal of the duel in the 33rd minutes after being set up by Marcus Rashford and he wasted no time to send Joe Hart the wrong direction.
Andre Ayew almost got the equalizer for West Ham United before the end of the first half when Hernandez supplied a great pass, but the Ghanaian star could not go past David De Gea.
Lukaku netted the second goal for Manchester United in the 52nd minutes when Mkhitaryan curled a free-kick in front of the left corner, and the Belgian got in front of Masuaku to flick an accomplished downward header into the far corner.
West Ham were anxiously looking for how to get back into the game, but they failed to defend their goalkeeper Joe Hart allowing Anthony Martial and Paul Pogba to score in the 87th and 90th minutes respectively as the match ended 4-0 in favor of Manchester United.
