- Barcelona are looking for replacements for Neymar and Andres Iniesta
Liverpool have released a statement saying they would not entertain any offers for Brazilian playmaker Philippe Coutinho despite interest from Barcelona.
The Reds have rejected Barca’s £90m bid for the 25-year-old as they seek a replacement for the ageing Andres Iniesta and departed Neymar.
The midfielder has also been ruled out of the Reds’ Premier League opener against Watford.
The Reds’ statement read: “We wish to offer clarity as regards our position on a possible transfer of Philippe Coutinho.
“The club’s definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes.”
