- Chelsea will make a club record bid for Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata
- The Blues are still battling with the pains of missing out on Lukaku
- Romelu Lukaku has agreed to join Manchester United
After missing out on a deal to sign Belgian football star Romelu Lukaku, Premier League champions Chelsea are now turning their attention to Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata.
Lukaku was widely reported to make a return to Stamford Bridge but Manchester United have hijacked the deal from the Blues as the striker has accepted to play for the Red Devils.
NAIJ.com understands that Real Madrid star Alvaro Morata was Antonio Conte's initial target, but Chelsea chiefs preferred the Belgian hit-man.
And now that the chance of signing Romelu Lukaku has collapsed, Chelsea are reportedly ready to make a bid of £70 million to lure Morata to London this summer.
According to the report obtained by NAIJ.com, Chelsea coach Antonio Conte wants an experienced striker that will add meaningful value to his attack next season in the Premier League and also in the UEFA Champions League.
Meanwhile, it is not yet clear if Real Madrid who are the reigning Spanish and European League champions would want Morata to leave Spain this summer.
