Female athlete Alysia Montano on Thursday, June 22, 2017 competed in 800-meter race at the U.S. track and field championships in extreme heat while she was pregnant.

NAIJ.com understands that Montano was 5-months pregnant when she competed in the long distance race as she finished more than 19 seconds behind the winning time.

Montano is expecting her 2nd child as she was spotted chasing her nearly 3-year-old daughter around after the race.

NAIJ.com also gathered that this is not the first time the female athlete was competing in a race while she was pregnant.

Sources revealed that Montano took two laps at nationals while pregnant with her first child.

The female athlete has stated that she did not expect to win as she just went along with the race.

Montana said: "There's something about coming out to any venue, not really expecting to win but just going along with the journey and seeing what comes out of it,"
