Confederation's Cup: Mexico defeat New Zealand

A much changed Mexico line-up almost came unstuck against New Zealand at the ongoing FIFA Confederations Cup but held on to win 2 - 1 in a hard-fought win.

Mexico made eight changes to the team that impressively drew 2 - 2 with Portugal in their opening game as the likes of Chicharito, Carlos Vela, Jonathan Dos Santos, Miguel Layun and hector Herrera found themselves on the bench.

Captain Chris Woods almost scored the opener for New Zealand when he found himself one on one with the goalie but his effort was expertly saved.

Aquino had a shot from the left saved but provided the platform for the equlizer.

The winger dribbled past one from the left on the touchline and drove into the box where he fed Fabian who in turn fed Raul Jimenez who turned and fired into the roof of the net.
