2018 FIFA WC qualifier: Nigeria moves Cameroon match out of Uyo

- The NFF has decided not to use Uyo as a venue for Super Eagles matches

- The Eagles extended their poor record playing in Uyo following the loss to SA

- The NFF has decided it will use Port-Harcourt for upcoming Eagles matches

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) may have decided against using the the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo as the Super Eagles home ground.

According to the Vanguard, the decision was made following poor results recorded by the Super Eagles that the Akwa-Ibom ground.

The Eagles will no longer play at the Godswill Akpabio stadium

The Eagles lost 2 - 0 at home to South Africa which forced the NFF to decide the ground will not be used anymore.

The 2018 World Cup qualifier between Nigeria and Cameroon later in the year will now be played in Port Harcourt, sources within the NFF said.

Super Eagles have won just two games at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium which is becoming something of a concern for Nigerians.

The stadium is believed to be cursed

The transportation to the stadium from the hotel which takes 45 minutes and none presence of vocal home support were cited as reasons for the move.

Renovation works at the PH ground has delayed an official announcement while the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna and the National Stadium in Abuja have been placed on standby.
