Wayne Rooney blew away £500,000 (about N205million) in a 'game' while he was play blackjack on Saturday night, May 12.
The England skipper was reportedly alone at 235 club in Manchester just after midnight as he was drinking beer and was busy spending his cash on roulette and blackjack.
Sources reveal that he was carelessly playing on red and 'seemed to be in a world of his own'.
According to a witness, the 31-year-old was at the facility just after midnight and was there about 2am as he was losing 'thousands a minute and hundreds of thousands per hour'.
He said: "Wayne was being extremely reckless, laying down chips which amounted to massive games.
"He was drinking bottles of beer. But he wasn't drunk. He was more interested in the playing than drinking.
"He was gaming a lot on red when he was playing roulette - which seemed appropriate - and was putting long-shot games on solo numbers. He kept losing but that just prompted him to play more."
According to reports, the Manchester United star has a private account with the club as he was given VIP treatment.
