Juventus superstar defender Dani Alves has explained what he told Barcelona star Neymar after their exit in the 2017 UEFA Champions League on April 19, 2017.
Many were of the views that Alves who had a successful stint at Barcelona was mocking Neymar who broke down into tears after the final whistle of their second leg quarter final duel on Wednesday night, April 19.
Alves who was impressive in the tie admitted he told Neymar to forget about the defeat and also revealed he would have preferred to have not faced his former side.
‘I told him that this is football, that’s just the way it is.
‘I already told him that I didn’t want to take on Barcelona for all that we had gone through together, but that in these situations you have to leave feelings aside.
‘Everyone defended their club colours and Neymar needn’t be sad. It’s just a defeat and he has to move on,'' Alves explained.
