German midfielder Mesut Ozil has been ruled out of Arsenal's UEFA Champions League second leg clash against Bayern Munich due to illness.
Arsenal will be at the Emirates stadium on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 to face German club Bayern Munich who defeated the Gunners 5-1 in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 tie.
Ozil who also missed Arsenal's 3-1 Premier League defeat at Liverpool was expected to resume training on Monday, March 6, 2017 and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has now confirmed that the 28-year-old former Real Madrid star will not face Bayern Munich.
''I don't think Mesut Ozil is ready physically to be in the squad tomorrow (Monday) because he is not yet fit and I think he should be available for the weekend,'' Wenger explained.
Arsenal will attempt to complete a surprise come back against the Bundesliga title holders who have pitched one leg in the quarter-final of the 2017 UEFA Champions League.
