After recovering from a virus, England and Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has suffered another injury which has ruled him out of his team's crucial Premier League encounter against arch rivals Arsenal.
Struggling Liverpool will be at home on Saturday, March 4 2017 to face embattled Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and his wards and a victory for the hosts will be of great advantage to the Reds' manager Jurgen Klopp.
Klopp had hoped that Daniel Sturridge would be fit to face the Gunners, and he is now disappointed that the striker will no longer face Arsenal at Anfield.
''Daniel was ill, really, really ill. Now he has a strain in the hip muscle, it happened in the rehab session. Not the biggest.
“He’ll be out of normal training for the next week. He can train, but not in team training.” Jurgen Klopp explained
Sturridge, 27, has previously been sidelined two times with hip injuries and his Liverpool medical record also shows two spells out with hamstring strains, plus knee, calf, ankle, and groin problems.
The former Chelsea striker has only managed 14 Premier League appearances this season for Liverpool.
