Abia warriors lost at home 0-1 to El Kanemi, who are handled by former Abia Warriors coach, Ladan Bosso.

“Following a series of poor results recorded recently by the club, I wish to resign my appointment as technical adviser of Abia Warriors FC, thereby leading to the termination of the contract I entered with the club forthwith,” the resignation letter signed by Emordi read in part.

Despite a bright start to the season, Abia Warriors find themselves eighth on the table with 11 points from nine matches. This comes on the heels of a run of poor results.

Emordi’s highest point in his coaching career was when he led Enyimba to successfully defend the CAF Champions League in 2004.

Abia Warriors appointed coach Okey Emordi in October 2016 as their new technical adviser ahead of the Nigeria Professional Football League season.

The former Enyimba and Enugu Rangers handler returned to coaching a topflight club - a season after he left Kano Pillars to join Nigeria National League side C.O.D United.
