Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola could be on his way back to Spanish giants Barcelona to replace current handler Luis Enrique who might be facing the exit doors at the end of the current League campaign.
According to the report, Argentine star Lionel Messi is trying to mastermind the return of his former boss as the only rationale for him to stay at Nou Camp next season.
Messi is said to have kept in touch with the Manchester City boss, and he wants the 46-year-old Spaniard to return to Spain.
Guardiola left the Nou Camp in 2012 after a revolutionary four-year spell before taking a sabbatical and going on to manage German side Bayern Munich, and now Premier League club Manchester City.
Messi was reported to have personally called Guardiola and asked him to consider a return to the Nou Camp in the summer.
Guardiola gave Lionel Messi the platform to become the best player on the planet by giving him center stage with the sale of Brazilian legend Ronaldinho.
