Players of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side, Sunshine Stars have staged an open protest in Akure which is the capital of Ondo state to press for the demand of their 5 months salaries and other entitlements.
Sunshine Stars were impressive in their NPFL week 7 encounter as they forced hosts Abia Warriors to a 1-1 draw on Thursday, February, 9, 2017, but the Akure Gunners returned only to embark on a demonstration over the non payment of their salaries and arrears.

The players were seen on Saturday, February, 11, 2017 carrying several placards displaying different captions while marching to the Ondo state Government house in Akure.
Captain of the team Sunday Abe led the protest as the aggrieved players whined bitterly over their current welfare.
