German footballer Marc Wachsunderwent a successful emergency surgery after a shooting incident, which left his aunt dead and her husband injured.
The Dynamo Dresden defender saw his aunt, 59, killed in the attack outside the store which she owned near Frankfurt, while her husband, 63, was also injured.
The 21-year-old was operated on and and the German second tier side’s sporting director issued a statement following the incident — and offered their support.
Ralf Minge said: “We are shocked, stunned and deeply saddened.

“The entire Dynamo family is behind Marc and his family. We will be wherever our help and support is needed.
“Marc, his family, and the process of recovery, both physically and mentally, are now the only priorities.
“Everything else does not matter. I would also like to express our deep compassion to Marc, his family and all his relatives.
“We specifically ask you to respect the privacy of Marc and his family more than ever.”
No one has been arrested over the attack as yet but reports claim he was shot by a man between the ages of 20 and 30.
Wachs — who can play in the centre or on the left side of defence — moved to Dresden in the summer from Mainz.
