- Former Cameroonian striker Samuel Eto'o has insisted that he won't make any return to the national team

- The player said he is too old to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying games

- He has faced Nigeria three times scoring two goals against the Super Eagles

Erstwhile Barcelona star Samuel Eto'o has stated that he will not be making any return to the Cameroonian national team ahead of their 2018 World Cup qualifying game against Nigeria which will come up in August 2017.

Former Cameroonian international Samuel Eto'o

The striker was has won the African footballer of the year award four times hanged his international boots in the year 2014 after playing 118 games scoring 56 goals for the Indomitable Lions.

There have been reports in the media that the ex Chelsea forward would make a return to face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in 2017, but Samuel Eto'o has cleared the air claiming that he won't be making any return to the national team.

''No, I am too old to face the Super Eagles, and there is no point returning back to the national team because there are young generation that should be given the chance,'' he explained

The 35-year-old has faced the Nigeria Super Eagles on three occasions, the first was in the year 1997 at the LG Cup held in Tunisia, the other two games were at the 2000 and 2004 African Cup of Nations championship.

Nigeria are currently leading the Group B of the CAF 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifying series with six points from two games.
