Football is a sport makes you run for a full 90mins (or more) but sometimes it seems like some players only run for about 30 mins.
This is not to say these players aren't talented to play for the best teams around, but they just seem to be lazy and this has been confirmed by stats, coaches or fellow players.
With the sort of money these players earn, we expect them to run more and show more invention.
NAIJ.com looks at 6 lazy but talented and popular footballers:
1. Mario Balotelli
Do we really need to tell you anymore about this player? Former coaches like Cesare Prandelli and Roberto Mancini have accused the striker for lack a effort while numerous videos have emerged of the player not doing his aerobics when on the training ground.
2. Zlatan Ibrahimovic
During a Champions League semi-final game between Barcelona and Inter Milan, stats recorded showed that the Swede ran less meters than goalkeeper Victor Valdes.
Now Man United fans are experiencing his lazy style of play. He is really good though and puts a lot of energy into training.
3. Dimitar Berbatov
Every Manchester United fan remembers this man who played it too cool sometimes to the point of frustration. It seemed like he never ran during a match. He was one of the best strikers around in his prime at United and Tottenham though.
4. Adel Taarabt
Ridiculously talented but wasted his talent due to his attitude. Still just 27 years old, Taarabt has a long way to go to fulfill his enormous potential.
Former coach at QPR, Harry Redknapp once slammed the player for being three stone overweight despite given two weeks to shed the extra skin.
5. Yaya Toure
In his earlier days and especially at Barcelona, he was defensive midfielder or defender full of energy and less body mass but after given an attacking role at City under Roberto Mancini and later Manuel Pellegrini, he became lazy.
He was frozen out of the City team earlier this season to lose weigh and later regained his place in the team.
6. Nicklas Bendtner
The ultimate lazy footballer who was not as talented as he claimed though with little extra work he could have become a quality player.
He was always lazy on the pitch and not willing to run. Wasted opportunities at Sunderland, Arsenal, Juventus and Wolfsburg.
The Lord needs to get his game together.
*Special mention: Kanu Nwankwo (retired but known for his lack of pace)
